Letterpress Wedding Invite

Everyone always asks their design friends to do wedding invites – I am no exception, except in this case the client was ME!

It’s always tricky to design for yourself, at least that’s how I am – never satisfied and struggling to stop with the little changes here and there. So I decided my good lady wife was going to be the client – that way I had a deadline and someone to sign off the job.

We combined our own personalities – my love of Modernism and my wife’s love of her Mexican heritage influenced the design, my classic 1967 Lambretta scooter illustrated in a Día de Muertos homage with bold colours (NOT a nod to Carnaby St Mod) that overprinted well onto A6 invites using art work that was transferred to polymer plates and printed on my Adana 8×5 letterpress.
